Last week I posted an “Author Recipe” where I make my own made up recipe using the themes and tropes some of my favorite authors use to write their books. This week it will be New Adult writer, Colleen Hoover, and one of my favorite authors. Enjoy!
- 6 cups of an Unimaginable Romantic Connection
- 3 cups of Feels
- 1 cups of Family Drama
- 2 cups of sliced New Adult characters
- 3 teaspoons of Quirky Friends
- 1 teaspoon of a Halfway Unexpected Twist
- 1 pinch of Texas or a Hot Setting
- 1 pinch of a Big U.S. City
- Steamy Scenes to your liking
- 1 pinch of Meaningful Names
Step 1: Get your 2 cups of sliced New Adult characters and pour 6 cups of Unimaginable Romantic Connection or Strong Romantic Connection into a big pot.
Step 2: Add 1 cup of Family Drama to the pot.
Step 3: Add the 3 teaspoons of Quirky Friends, they will help your protagonists with the Family Drama and Romantic Connection.
Step 4: Add the 3 cups of Feels. Do NOT skip this step. The Feels will be what give your readers the Gasps, the Oohs, the WTF, and the OMG moments.
Step 5: Add the 1 teaspoon of Halfway Unexpected Twist although it can also be Unexpected Ending, but use Halfway Unexpected Twist for better results.
Step 6: For settings add 1 pinch of Texas or Hot Setting and 1 pinch of a Big U.S. City.
Step 7: Add as many Steamy Scenes for your New Adult characters, to your liking.
Step 8: Put it on the stove and wait for it to boil.
Step 9: Make sure to stir it as you let it simmer.
Step 10: Serve it with a pinch of Meaningful Names according to your liking.
