I’ll be honest 2017 was a great and not so great year for me and reading. On the one hand, I did complete my Goodreads goal of reading 100 books, but on the other hand my favorite reads didn’t beat my favorites from 2016. Then again, I also ventured into genres I normally wouldn’t like horror and science fiction, although that was mostly due to school.
So here are a couple of things I considered in compiling this list. 1) My initial reaction to the book, meaning how much I enjoyed reading it. And 2) How often do I think about this book in the time after I read it. In other words, its lasting impact on me. So, let’s get started! Continue reading
Now that 2018 is done and over with, I can finally talk about some of my favorite shows and movies from 2017. In general I think it was a good year for me and TV shows / movies, and in many cases I didn’t expect to love the show or movies as much as did. I even learned to embrace a new genre I wasn’t sure existed. I’m just not sure what it says about me if all of my favorite shows happen to be either science fiction, horror (arguable), or crime.
NOTE: Mind you, these are shows and movies I watched this year. Also, it was really hard putting these in order.
So it’s not exactly the New Year anymore and it’s already been a week since it’s been 2017, but that’s not stopping me from doing this tag! I wasn’t exactly tagged but Lauren @ Wonderless Reviews but she did say that if I wanted to, I could. Therefore, I’m doing it.

How many books do you hope to read in 2017?
Short Answer: 50 books
Long Answer: Last year my goal was 23 books because that was one more book than what I read in 2015. But, in 2016 I discovered graphic novels and I read A LOT of them and they helped me surpass my goal by a longshot. By the end of the year I had 90+ books (I had no idea I could read that much), so this year my goal is 50 books.

Any New Year’s Resolutions? (Bookish, blogging, and otherwise)
I have a lot of books I bought last year that I haven’t read and right now I’m trying really hard to read the ones I already have before buying any new books. Key word, buying. If someone wants to gift me a book, I won’t say no… I honestly don’t know how long this will last. Thankfully, school just started so that will keep me busy enough from going to Amazon or Barnes and Noble or any bookstore.
