I’m a bit late on this wrap up, but like people say, better later than never knowing what I read for June… Oh wait that’s not what people say, but here’s my wrap up anyway!
In recent years I’ve taken a real interest in reading books about the places where I am from. While a lot of the books I read take place in the U.S., where I live, they rarely take place my state, Florida and much less Miami. I was also born in Cuba and lived there until my family immigrated to the U.S. when I was four years old. I don’t remember much from living there but my parents make sure that I don’t forget where I come from and why they chose to make that move.
In today’s post I want to talk about some of the books that take place either in Miami or Cuba, some of them have been horrible, others great, and some I’m looking forward to reading soon.
This month has been pretty hectic for me between summer classes and a new job with a weird schedule. It’s left me with very little free time for myself, much less read for fun. In fact, I only finished one book. This will probably be the trend for the upcoming months until I get accustomed to his schedule or at least until I’m able to change. Continue reading
